There will be an opportunity to see where Aboriginal visitors camped and lived during seasonal visits to the area that is now part of Carter Caves Resort Park. Depending on the level of interest there will be an opportunity to examine at least 14 archaeological sites. Also, participants may assist in a surface reconnaissance review to determine the extent of what may be an unreported large open habitation site. Nothing will be collected but we will make note of what is observed and include the information in a report that is being prepared for the Office of the State Archaeologist. This is an opportunity to actually see, walk through, and study sites that have a pre-historic significance. Materials will be made available to participants to actually see what archaeological evidence has been discovered in the County.
