Carter Caves State Resort Park is a complete resort facility operated by the Kentucky Department of Parks. The park features a 28-room lodge with high speed wireless internet, 13 cottages, a full-service restaurant, and a campground with full hookups. Lodge rooms and cottages are often fully booked for the Winter Adventure Weekend so call soon to make your reservation. Lodging reservations for the 2024 Winter Adventure Weekend will be accepted starting February 1, 2023.

Park Camping
Our two campgrounds are open for camping during Winter Adventure Weekend.
Main Campground: We have available both primitive and electric sites. Water hookups are not available in the main campground during Winter Adventure Weekend.
Horse Campground: Full hookups for water, electric and sewer.
Site rentals in the main campground, (this does not apply to Horse Camping & Bunk Houses) are BUY ONE GET ONE FREE during the event.

The campground registration building and the horse campground bathroom facilities will be open for the event. The lower bathhouse facility is closed due it being winterized. Laundry facilities are closed for the winter. The campground store will be open Thursday through Sunday - see hours below. The campground store provides firewood, groceries, and bath accessories.

Free Camping For Youth Groups!
Youth groups registering eight or more participants can camp in the main campground at no charge on Friday and Saturday night of Winter Adventure Weekend! This free camping offer applies to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church groups, college groups and all youth groups. Please include your group name during the online registration process. Your group is automatically eligible for free camping once you register eight or more participants. You will receive a camping permit at the event registration desk in the lodge upon arrival. Eligible groups will not be able to reserve campsites through Reserve America prior to the event. The sites will be first come first serve when you arrive at Winter Adventure Weekend. Any questions?
