FOCC SMOKY LAKE ADVENTURE PLUNGE!

The FOCC Smoky Lake Adventure Plunge is new for 2024. All funds raised by Plungers help the Friends of Carter Caves provide year-round support and services at the park. Come support the good work they’ve been doing since 2008. This year we will only have 20 slots, so sign up early!

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

Fundraising is required to participate in the Plunge, but the minimum of $50 makes a big-time impact—especially at times when we need it most!

STEP 1. REGISTER

Register for for the trip
Start telling your friends you’re going to jump in a lake this January. When they ask “Why in the world would you do something like that?” you can confidently tell them how much you love and want to support the great things happening at Carter Caves. What better way to do it than to enjoy Smoky Lake in a light snow for the first annual FOCC Smoky Lake Adventure Plunge!
Set your fundraising goal. Fundraising is required to participate in the Plunge- a minimum of $50. No need to stop at the minimum though, it’s all for a good cause and there are prizes for most funds raised and best costume during the plunge.
Ask your friends, family, and co-workers to join your team. The bigger the team, the better! Have your friends sponsor you and come cheer you on at the event.

STEP 2. FUNDRAISE

We get it. Fundraising can be hard, and asking for money can be awkward. Luckily, you’re doing it for a great cause, and asking to support the Friends of Carter Caves is much easier than jumping in a frozen lake… right?
Donations can be made up to the day of the event, and you can bring cash or check donations the day of your Plunge.

STEP 3. PLUNGE!

When you arrive at Smoky Lake for the Adventure Plunge, make your first stop at the welcome area/warming tent. This is where you will check-in and pick up your life vest and towel (remember to bring your own shoes you can get wet).
Make your way to the changing tent 10-15 minutes early.
PLUNGE!
After you Plunge, head back to the changing tent and get into some dry clothes, then share your accomplishments with your donors and friends on social media.

STEP 4. BASK IN THE GLORY

The Friends of Carter Caves can’t do it without you. Your support means everything to us.
